Dropbox x McLaren F1 Microsite
It was just supposed to be a landing page.
Dropbox needed a destination for its partnership with the McLaren F1 team. A few of us thought it could be more than a campaign asset. It could be a destination, one that put you inside the F1 experience and showed what it actually felt like to tell stories at 200mph.
We pushed to make it story-driven, fundamentally interactive, and rooted in the texture of racing culture. Then we partnered with Daybreak Studio to build something that could hold all of that.
I wrote all the copy.
The results:
Won two Webby Awards (from four nominations), was organically amplified by a prominent design creator netting 67K+ YouTube views, and contributed to 41% awareness of Dropbox as McLaren's Official Technology Partner: an 11-point increase, year over year.
